About Us

Delta Carpets was started by Albert Beeksma in 1967. Its beginnings as a "one man business" was a home-based operation with Albert's wife Elly as secretary. As the business grew, a storefront was needed and Delta Carpets relocated from "home" to a shop on Delta street that was formerly the Ladner Pool Hall.

In 1971 Albert purchased the Ladner Theatre building at the corner of Haviland and 48th Avenue. After extensive remodeling of the building, Delta Carpets took on a new location at 4807 Haviland Street. At this point Elly joined Albert in the store followed by their son Trevor and daughter Yvonne.

In more recent years the staff has grown to include Stephanie, Trevor’s wife and Michael, Yvonne’s son in the store. Throughout most of this time Herman Beeksma, Ron Beeksma and Brian Beeksma – nephews of Albert – as well as Helmut Wiebe have been installing for Delta Carpets.

The company continued to grow, making several moves in the building and finally settling at its present location 5025 - 48 Avenue.
